What Is First Aid?

What is first aid

First aid means using life-saving techniques to save an ill or injured person requiring immediate attention. It can keep the condition stable until full medical service is available.

Providing someone with first aid can treat and minimise their injuries or wounds and help them recover faster. Additionally, in a life-threatening situation, it can prevent their condition from further deterioration. If you want to be a part of a good cause, you can register for first aid training.

Why Do I Need to Learn First Aid?

Why Do I Need to Learn First Aid.

At some point in life, everyone faces emergencies, whether it involves them directly or not. In such cases, quick thinking and immediate action can make the difference needed to save a life. Situations like this are when first aid training is helpful, allowing you to prevent matters from worsening while waiting for professional medics to arrive and possibly save a life.

First aid is not only restricted to emergency conditions, but it can also make your environment safer. For example, it can let you identify potential life hazards around your home or workplace. First aid knowledge and skills can guide you to an appropriate response to such situations. Not only that, but it can help you in your employment, as organisations prefer employees who possess first aid knowledge.

If you’re looking to becoming a firefighter, nurse, electrician, or lifeguard, getting a first aid certification will undoubtedly be helpful. It also generates Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
