1. Provide CPR

The Provide First Aid course begins with CPR training, focusing on handling breathing and cardiac emergencies like heart attacks and drowning. Two versions of the Provide CPR Course are offered: a standard two-hour course and an Express Course lasting one hour. To participate in face-to-face training, completing mandatory pre-reading and passing a quiz is required. For the CPR Express option, participants must finish online training and assessments before attending the physical session.

This course includes training in Provide CPR, formally known as HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (supersedes HLTAID001).

 
 

2. Provide First Aid

The initial component of the Providing First Aid course is Provide CPR, which instructs participants in responding to respiratory and cardiac emergencies such as heart attacks and drowning. There are two versions of the Provide CPR Course available: a standard two-hour course and an expedited one-hour Express Course. To qualify for face-to-face training, completion of mandatory pre-reading and passing a quiz is necessary. Moreover, participants opting for CPR Express must finish online training and assessments before attending the in-person session.

This course content includes topics such as:

The training covers CPR techniques tailored for newborns, toddlers, and adults, as well as assessing emergencies, administering first aid for bleeding, burns, and fractures, managing infections, handling shock, and addressing medical conditions like epilepsy.

The normal course requires seven hours for training and evaluation, while the Express Emergency First Aid Course takes two hours. Regardless of your chosen course, completing Express Emergency First Aid or HLTAID004 Childcare First Aid prepares you with the necessary skills to participate in the on-site training.
